What does your job entail? Working beehives, preparing hiveware, and everything involved with general honey production.

How long have you been doing it? Four years.

What attracted you to this line of work? Family and the opportunity of self-employment.

What training was involved? Years of summer work as a beekeeping assistant.

What do you love most about your job? The flexibility and seasonal variations in the work.

And what are the worst bits? It’s really busy over summer.

What motivates you in your work? The drive to succeed.

What are your career goals? To be in a position to mentor and teach others in the future.

Do you have any key mentors or people who have influenced you? Yes, my grandfather, parents and uncles are in the business and have influenced me a lot over the years.

Where did you grow up and what was it like? I grew up in South Wairarapa and went to Rathkeale College. Growing up in rural environment was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a boarder at Rathkeale College.
