The good news is that we may be one step closer to that thumbs down we so desperately want, because sometimes, the angry face just doesn’t cut it.
Facebook is currently testing their reaction buttons in the messaging app, but with one extra feature – a thumbs down. Much like how you would react to a post, messenger could soon be introducing reactions to individual messages. On a mobile device, users would hold down a button next to the text and the app would bring up a number of reactions.
“We’re always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging. This is a small test where we enable people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings on a message” confirmed Facebook.
While the dislike button has been consistently requested by users, Facebook insists that the reactions give a broader and more specific response. The thumbs down they are testing will be treated more as a ‘No’ response rather than a ‘dislike.’
